About

ShutterStockBar is a Firefox browser extension that automatically checks the number of your photo downloads in shutterstock.com photo agency. In order to display your statistics in status bar, you have to be logged on. You can see it in action in this screenshot.
ShutterStockBar

How does it work?

The extension is checking your shutterstock.com profile page every 15 minutes, extracting data from the page and displaying it in the status bar.

Security

The extension is not saving any passwords nor sending them somewhere. If you are interested, you can unpack the installation and view the source code yourself or ask it to some web programmer. You can also follow the thread of this extension in the official ShutterStock.com forum to be sure about the security of this extension.

Usage

The usage is very simple - you install it, login to your account on submit.shutterstock.com and watch the statistics in your browser status bar. At the moment only number of downloads and earnings in current month are displayed, however that might change some day.

Installation

Requirements: Firefox 1.5 or later. Now also supports Firefox 3.5 branch.

Install now.

I got a new ‘used’ laptop yesterday and decided to try ‘flock’ (mozilla based browser) instead of Firefox. Tonight I decide to try - even though it really shouldn’t work - to use your shutterstock Firefox extension with Flock - And it worked! Thank you! “You da bomb!”, as they say. :D

I haven’t tried Fx 3.0 myself, so there’s no update available yet, but I’ll fix that soon!

Just upgraded FF to v 3.5 and ShutterStockBar is not compatible. Will you be releasing a compatible version? Do you know when?

Why firefox can’t autoupdate this plug-in?

Just because I have not implemented the auto-update feature and haven’t published it to mozilla addons website. But the changes are just when new major firefox versions come out, so I’m not in a hurry to do this :)

I have ShutterStockBar installed on Firefox 3.5.2 on two computers. a desktop with WinXP where it works flawlessly and a laptop with Vista where it continually reports “Not Logged In” even if I’m logged into SS on the same tab of the browser. Is there a problem with Vista? Or what?

I don’t think there should be any difference whether you use Windows Vista, Windows XP or even a Mac. Probably the toolbar hasn’t just updated the data..

Are you still keep getting “not logged in” message?
